The Suburb

TOD can be particularly advantageous to low-income households, as it reduces transportation costs and frees up income that would otherwise go towards commuting costs. Furthermore, TOD creates opportunities for community-based enterprises and local employment in disadvantaged neighborhoods while mitigating natural hazard impacts by concentrating high density housing and activities away from vulnerable areas.
